Focusrite 4th generation Scarlett 18i16

The Scarlett 18i16 Gen 4 is a USB audio interface from Focusrite.

A versatile Scarlett:
Discover the Scarlett 18i16, the USB audio interface of choice for artistic producers. It features the same converters as Focusrite’s flagship RedNet range. The 4th generation preamps offer a whopping 69dB of gain, so you can capture dynamic performances with perfect clarity, no matter what microphones you use. With a total of eight analogue inputs, including two Hi-Z instrument inputs, the 18i16 gives you the power to connect all your peripherals. Its powerful outputs ensure virtually distortion-free playback, and its two new headphone amps allow you to use high-impedance models.

Studio-quality sound:
The audio circuit has been completely reworked. It now includes the same 24-bit / 192 kHz converters that equip Focusrite's professional RedNet range, the interfaces used in the most prestigious AV control rooms and recording studios on the planet. And thanks to their impressive 122 dB gain range, you can capture everything from the faintest whisper to an airplane engine.

Air mode: the sound of big consoles:
Thanks to the new version of Air mode, you can give more character to your sound and put it at the forefront of your mix. It can indeed bring presence or a myriad of harmonics to vocals and acoustic instruments, reproducing the effect of a classic studio console pushed to its limits.

The Auto Gain function: work faster:
The Auto Gain function will make life easier for all sound engineers, whether they are beginners or veterans. In a few seconds, it automatically sets the optimal input level, a valuable time saver during recording sessions, especially with complex configurations including several microphones.

The Clip Safe function: never miss a take:
The Clip Safe function monitors your levels up to 96,000 times per second while you record and automatically adjusts the gain to avoid any clipping or saturation. This will prevent you from hearing unwanted artifacts due to an overzealous limiter. So you won’t miss a single take, especially in stressful situations like gigging or recording outdoors.

Easy control with software and mobile app:
Use Focusrite Control 2 software to manage routing and levels, monitor mixes and control other functions of the Scarlett 18i16. The desktop software, plus iOS and Android apps, allow engineers and artists to configure mixes and adjust mic preamp gain remotely, which is particularly useful in recording rooms.
