Thorpyfx EAO Fuzz

Manufactured in the United Kingdom using high-performance components, the THORPYFX EAO Fuzz is a reinterpretation of the Burns Buzzaround, one of the most legendary British fuzz pedals of the 1960s. It beautifully recreates the aggression, harmonic complexity, and remarkable sustain of vintage germanium fuzz pedals.
The EAO is therefore ideal for guitarists seeking an authentic, old-school fuzz with a bold, flexible, and musical character that they can easily integrate into their rig.

Built around a trio of NOS germanium PNP transistors and a NOS germanium diode, the EAO delivers rough, thick, organic fuzz tones with remarkable harmonic richness.
The four controls—Sustain, Tone, Volume, and Bias—are particularly effective and interactive. This allows you to produce dense, generous distortion as well as wilder, more aggressive tones. Pushed to its limits, the EAO is capable of generating exceptionally long sustain, particularly through the Bias control. This control profoundly alters the character of the distortion, ranging from an almost synthetic, acidic fuzz to a massive, rich sound.

The ThorpyFX EAO features a transformer that helps mitigate the routing issues typical of vintage-style germanium fuzz pedals, which are often incompatible with the impedance of upstream pedals. This allows the EAO to be positioned more freely on your pedalboard.
