Elysia Nvelope
The nvelope is a discrete Class-A transient processor that has become an essential tool in mixing. It allows for precise reshaping of the attack and sustain of any type of signal, whether during recording, post-production, or mixing.
Remarkably effective on percussive sources, the nvelope excels on individual tracks, buses, and the master output of a console or summing mixer. Its great flexibility and musical behavior also make it an extremely creative tool, highly valued in sound design.
The nvelope is also available in the 500 Series format and in the proprietary elysia qube chassis.
Envelope Processing
Full Range Mode
In Full Range mode, the nvelope operates independently of the signal level, allowing for rapid achievement of the desired result.
Operation is particularly simple and intuitive:
The Attack control attenuates or enhances the attack.
The Sustain control similarly affects the signal's sustain.
The controls function equally well in attenuation (to the left) and amplification (to the right).
Like a compressor, the Freq A control reduces the influence of low frequencies on the attack processing. The higher the frequency, the less the low frequencies influence the processing.
Dual Band Mode
Dual Band mode offers finer, more targeted control over the frequency spectrum.
Freq A defines the frequency at which the attack processing becomes effective.
Freq S determines the end frequency of the sustain processing.
The Attack and Sustain controls retain the same function as in Full Range mode.
This mode is particularly recommended for more precise envelope processing or for signals that may generate unwanted artifacts in Full Range mode.
Auto Gain
Amplifying the attack in Full Range mode can lead to significant level peaks, potentially causing uneven signal or distortion.
The Auto Gain function automatically compensates for the highest peaks, ensuring a more stable output level.
This function is generally not needed in Dual Band or EQ mode and is therefore only available in Full Range mode.
Advanced Functions
EQ Mode
A particularly interesting side effect of the envelope topology is the ability to use it as a shelving-type equalizer.
By disabling the dynamic sections while keeping the filters active:
Freq A sets the high-shelf filter frequency
Attack determines the intensity of the cut or boost in the high frequencies
Freq S sets the low-shelf filter frequency
Sustain controls the intensity of the cut or boost in the low frequencies
The two channels can be used as two independent equalizers or linked for stereo processing.
Mixed Mode
The envelope has two channels capable of operating in Full Range, Dual Band, or EQ mode, in linked stereo or dual mono mode.
The two channels can also be used for completely different processing:
One channel in Dual Band and the other in Full Range
One channel for EQ and the other for transient processing
The output of the left channel can be chained to the input of the right channel to combine equalization and envelope shaping on the same signal
The routing and processing possibilities are numerous and particularly creative.
Dual Mono or Stereo Linked
The envelope can operate in linked stereo or dual mono, offering maximum flexibility.

2 × Dual Band
2 × EQ
