In recent years, audio production has shifted from large commercial studios to more compact and focused home and project studios. These smaller studios are typically centered around digital audio workstations (DAWs) and use fewer external devices, partly due to space constraints. However, the industry remains in high demand for classic analog sounds and features.
This demand has led to the development of saturators that offer a distinctive sound and extensive adjustment options, allowing users to instantly add analog warmth to any recording, whether on individual tracks, busses, or during mastering, all in a compact form factor.

Many Gainlab Audio users have reported that the most-used feature in their units is the Tube Boost. This feedback inspired the creation of a unit that provides fully adjustable tube saturation, ensuring a sound suitable for a wide range of production scenarios.

This device is the Wizard Stereo Tube Saturator GLA-TS1. The input and output controls allow users to easily adjust the saturation level to suit the character of the source material and their personal tastes. By using the clean signal from the input, the Wizard is able to remove this “clean” content from the output signal, providing additional control for setting the desired saturation level.

As a valve device, it naturally includes a bias control. In particular, the Wizard offers the ability to shape the tonal character of the saturation, not only with a high-pass filter, but also with a preset three-band EQ. This unique solution allows for unprecedented variation in the character of the sound. The device provides visual feedback on output levels and the degree of saturation. Additionally, users can influence the dynamic aspects of saturation using the pressure control, which works on the principle of vari-mu compressors and also features a dedicated meter.
