Tube Channel Strip

We are proud to announce the arrival of the newest member of the Gainlab Audio product family! Our very own BISHOP tube channel strip offers much more than you'd expect from a simple high-quality channel strip. The heart of the unit is the mic preamp, which is comprised of three vacuum tubes built in an all-tube design. There are mic and instrument inputs on the front panel, while mic and line inputs are also selectable on the rear panel. Above the usual phase, polarity, and phantom power switches, we find a special potentiometer that allows the instrument input to be colored using a discrete solution. The gain selector ring is divided into two selectable scales, allowing for gain boosts up to +60dB.

The VU meter located in the center of the unit represents the output level, while right next to it are the two GR meters for the dual-slope optical compressor. This exclusive Gainlab Audio design offers unique possibilities to the sound engineer by applying a second slope to the well-known working method of the LA-2A solution. This functionality extension is highly controllable with character, timing, and threshold options. Just above the output attenuator is the HPF with two options. At the far end of the front panel is a secret weapon called Dynamic Air Band with two selectable options. This feature can function like the well-known and beloved air band when used with an activated compressor. It reacts to the actual compression level and imparts the unique character of high-frequency components to the recorded sound.

The unit is built with the same robust materials used in all other Gainlab Audio products. The engraved front panel and high-quality internal components combine to bring lasting value to the client's audio production.
