Focusrite 4th generation Scarlett 16i16
The 4th Gen Scarlett 16i16 is a USB audio interface from Focusrite.
The Scarlett for artistic directors:
The Scarlett 16i16 incorporates the same converters that equip Focusrite's RedNet "audiovisual" range, making it the reference USB audio interface for small professional studios. It offers 16 inputs and 16 outputs, including two microphone preamps, Hi-Z (high impedance) line and instrument inputs, ADAT, S/PDIF and MIDI.
Capture every detail:
The 4th generation preamps offer an impressive 69 dB of gain reserve so you can capture your most dynamic performances. And with six analogue inputs in total, you have enough connectivity to connect your external equipment. The outputs are powerful and guarantee clear listening, almost without distortion. In addition, the two new headphone amps allow the use of high-impedance models.
High-flying sound quality:
The Scarlett 16i16 incorporates a completely reworked audio circuit. Its 24-bit / 192 kHz converters are the same as those used in the RedNet, Focusrite's professional range used in the best recording studios and audiovisual control rooms on the planet. Thanks to their dynamic range of 122 dB, you can capture everything from the slightest whisper to the engine of an airplane while enjoying unparalleled clarity.
Even better sound with Air mode:
Thanks to the new version of Air mode, you can give more character to your sound and place it at the forefront of your mix. It can indeed bring presence or a myriad of harmonics to vocals and acoustic instruments by reproducing the effect of a classic studio console pushed to its limits.
Make your work easier with Auto Gain:
The Scarlett 16i16 offers tools that make life easier for all sound engineers, whether they are beginners or veterans. With Auto Gain, the Scarlett sets the ideal sound level in seconds, no matter what you want to record. This will save you valuable time during complex sessions by instantly adjusting the levels of multiple microphones.
Never miss a shot with Clip Safe mode:
Thanks to Clip Safe mode, which actively monitors sound levels up to 96,000 times per second, the Scarlett 16i16 automatically adjusts the gain to avoid saturation or clipping. This will prevent you from hearing unwanted artifacts due to an overzealous limiter. This means you will never miss a shot, especially in stressful conditions, such as during a concert or outdoor recording.
Software apps to take control of your mix:
Focusrite Control 2 software takes care of routing, adjusting levels, setting up mixes for monitoring and more of the Scarlett 16i16. It’s quick and easy to use and also comes as an app for iOS and Android, allowing engineers and artists to manage their monitoring and control the gain of their mic preamps remotely, without having to go back to their computer.
