Atkin The Forty Three - aged black pearl
Carefully handcrafted in England in small quantities, the ATKIN The Thirty Three Aged Black Pearl is a stunning Dreadnought-style "Round Shoulders" steel-string acoustic guitar with a short scale (24.7/8"). Both its visual appeal and its tonal character are undeniably and authentically vintage.
Its all-solid-wood construction, executed to the highest standards, features premium woods: a torrefied Sitka spruce top, maple back and sides, “pre-war scalloped” bracing, a mahogany neck, an ebony fingerboard, and an ebony bridge.
The combination of Sitka spruce, maple, and ebony enhances clarity and percussiveness, particularly in the bass range. The tonal balance, however, remains excellent, with no frequencies sacrificed.
The ebony fingerboard provides a noticeable and natural compression of the sound, a characteristic that may prove beneficial in certain musical contexts.
In addition to giving the wood an elegant patina, the roasting (“roasted” or “baked”) process improves the stability, sustain, clarity, and resonance of the instrument, while protecting it from temperature fluctuations, humidity, and mold.
The Atkin The Thirty Three Aged Black Pearl guitar is a prestigious acoustic instrument—responsive, powerful yet subtle, with remarkable frequency balance.
It’s incredibly inspiring to play, and songwriters will fall in love with it instantly.
