Maag audio EQ4 500

The Mäag Audio EQ4-500 is a 6-band analog equalizer in the 500 series format, designed to deliver the brand's signature musicality and sonic signature in a compact and modular package. Directly inheriting the philosophy of the renowned EQ4M, it incorporates the legendary AIR BAND®, which adds clarity, brightness, and openness to the high frequencies without harshness or sibilance.

Designed for recording, mixing, and production applications, the EQ4-500 allows for broad and musical corrections while preserving the natural character of the source. It comprises six equalization bands, divided into four fixed-frequency bell bands, one 2.5 kHz shelf band, and the AIR BAND® section. This module offers several selectable frequencies (2.5, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 40 kHz), with a gain of up to +20 dB, ideal for adding air and presence to vocals, acoustic instruments, or entire mixes.

The main bands cover strategic frequencies: Sub (10 Hz), 40 Hz, 160 Hz, 650 Hz, and 2.5 kHz, allowing for effective adjustment across the entire spectrum, from deep bass to upper midrange. Each band offers an adjustment range of +15 dB to -4.5 dB, with a 0 dB center detent for precise and quick adjustments.

The module also features convenient visual indicators: a green LED for signal presence (-20 dBu) and a red LED for peak (+23 dBu), simplifying level monitoring. A bypass switch allows for instant comparison of the processed and unprocessed signals, an essential feature in a mixing situation.
