Sequential Prophet 6

Prophet-6 is Dave Smith's tribute to the poly synth that started it all: the Sequential Prophet-5. But it's not just a reissue of a classic. On the contrary, as Dave says, "It's the result of our efforts to build the most impressive modern analogue synth possible." Prophet-6 takes the best qualities of the original Prophet-5: real oscillators, filters and amplifiers, and adds enhancements such as studio-quality effects, a polyphonic step sequencer, arpeggiator, and much more. The result is a pure, seamless analogue sound with the stability and reliability of a modern, state-of-the-art synth.

At the heart of the Prophet-6's warm, punchy sound are its two new discrete oscillators (plus a sub-oscillator) per voice. Continuously variable waveforms provide the tonal palette with triangular, sawtooth and variable-width impulse waves. There are two discrete filters per voice: a four-pole resonant low-pass filter inspired by the original Prophet-5 filter and a two-pole resonant high-pass filter. VCAs complete the all-analogue signal path.

The dual effects section offers studio-quality reverbs, delays (standard and BBD), chorus and a phase shifter. While the effects themselves are digital, with 24-bit, 48kHz resolution, a true bypass maintains a full analogue signal path. There is also an independent 100% analogue stereo distortion effect.
