Carpathian Spruce is an European Spruce growing in the mountains of Romania. It is prized by many top notch builders for its best of both worlds characteristics.
Carpathian Spruce has a great stiffness close to Adirondack Red Spruce with more headroom, and maintaining the lower density and lightness of most traditional Euro Spruce species (German, Swiss, Italian). This gives it an excellent stiffness to weight ratio.
Most Carpathian spruce has a white, milky uniform color and consistent grain pattern.
Guatemalan Rosewood possesses similar tonal qualities to Brazilian Rosewood which is now placed under the CITES restriction. It is considered by most to be one of the premier tonewood for steel string guitars, offering a warm, rich and powerful tone.
