The KORG PS-3300 marks the return of one of the rarest and most iconic polyphonic analog synthesizers in KORG’s history. Developed in collaboration with Fumio Mieda—the designer of the original model—this new version recreates the architecture and sonic character of the 1977 PS-3300 while incorporating several improvements tailored to modern studios and setups.
Fully polyphonic, the PS-3300 offers up to 49 voices and is built around three independent PSU-3301 sound generators. Each section features its own VCO, VCF, VCA, and envelope generator, complemented by two modulation generators, three voltage-controlled resonant band-pass filters, and 12 independent micro-tuning settings.
The three generators can be used as distinct sound layers and are brought together by the PSU-3302 section, which includes a Sample & Hold circuit, a global envelope generator, a voltage processor, and various routing and modulation capabilities.
Thanks to its semi-modular architecture, the PS-3300 is ready to play right out of the box without patch cables, yet offers numerous connection points for creating complex routing and modulation schemes. Its three-band resonator allows for the creation of evolving textures, phaser and wah effects, and a wide range of timbral variations.
This new edition also adds programmable memory for 256 programs, organized into 16 banks of 16 slots each. Modern connectivity includes MIDI IN, OUT, and THRU ports as well as a USB Type-B port, while the KORG PS-3300 Sound Librarian software enables program management and organization via computer.
The PS-3010 keyboard is now included with the synthesizer. It features 49 keys with aftertouch, allowing you to take full advantage of the PS-3300's polyphony and expressive capabilities.
