Gibson SJ-200 Original (Baggs HiFi DNA Preamp) - vintage sunburst

Since its introduction in 1937, the Gibson SJ-200 has set the standard in the world of acoustic guitars, captivating leading artists in country, folk, and rock with its depth of tone, dynamics, and projection that surpasses all other models.
Its striking aesthetics have also contributed to its popularity. The “King of the Flat-tops” has never since been dethroned as the undisputed benchmark.
The GIBSON Original Collection SJ-200 (OCJB20HFVS) retains the fundamental characteristics of the original Super Jumbo, enhanced with a Baggs HiFi DNA preamp.

The all-solid-wood construction combines traditional woods with a Sitka spruce top, a maple body, a maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard (20 frets).
It delivers clear, powerful, percussive, and glossy tones. The bass is precise and responsive, while the mids and highs are well-defined with excellent articulation.
Add to this its Super Jumbo body size, and you get an acoustic guitar that is both powerful and warm—one that will particularly appeal to singer-songwriters and fans of country, Americana, or traditional folk music.

The SJ-200 Original is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system.
The HiFi DNA system uses two pickups positioned under the bridge instead of the usual piezo pickup. They perform recordings of vibrations from both the strings and the soundboard. The result is an even more natural and dynamic sound that faithfully reproduces the instrument’s original acoustic character.
Each Baggs HiFi DNA sensor has its own active preamp. The volume and tone controls are located on the inner edge of the soundhole.
