This Dreadnought Slope Shoulder model has contributed significantly to the development of the American folk sound in particular—and from there, the international folk sound—and has been featured on countless legendary albums. Its warm, expressive, and balanced tone has made it a timeless instrument.

The all-solid-wood construction of the GIBSON Modern Collection J-45 Standard 12-String (MCRS4512HFVS) combines traditional woods with a Sitka spruce top, a mahogany body and neck, and a rosewood (20 frets). A classic combination in the best sense of the word, providing an excellent balance between projection, warmth, and clarity, with prominent mids.

This J-45 Standard 12-String is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system.
The HiFi DNA system uses two pickups positioned under the bridge instead of the usual piezo. They perform recordings of vibrations from both the strings and the soundboard. The result is an even more natural and dynamic sound that faithfully reproduces the instrument’s original acoustic character.
Each Baggs HiFi DNA sensor has its own active preamp. The volume and tone controls are located on the inner edge of the soundhole.
