Gibson Hummingbird Standard Rosewood EC (Baggs HiFi DNA Preamp) - rosewood burst
Introduced in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird is a steel-string acoustic guitar just as timeless as the J-45, the J-200, or the Martin D-28. It has been the go-to instrument for countless legendary musicians: Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Keith Richards, Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton...
The GIBSON Modern Collection Hummingbird Standard Rosewood EC (MCSSHRECHFRB) retains the fundamental characteristics of the original Dreadnought Square Shoulder Hummingbird, enhanced with a rosewood body, a cutaway, and a Baggs HiFi DNA preamp.
The all-solid-wood construction of the Gibson Hummingbird Standard Rosewood combines traditional woods: a Sitka spruce top, a rosewood body, a mahogany neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard (20 frets).
This combination produces a sound that is full, warm, and responsive, with rich, well-defined bass, balanced mids, and crisp treble.
Compared to a model with a mahogany body, the bass is more prominent, and the harmonic depth is enhanced.
Its natural acoustic volume will be ideal for singers who accompany themselves on guitar.
The Hummingbird Standard Rosewood is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system.
The HiFi DNA system uses two pickups placed under the bridge plate instead of the usual piezo pickup. They perform recordings of vibrations from both the strings and the soundboard. The result is an even more natural and dynamic sound that faithfully reproduces the instrument’s original acoustic character.
Each Baggs HiFi DNA pickup has its own active preamp. The volume and tone controls are located on the inner edge of the soundhole.
The Gibson Hummingbird Standard Rosewood is a must-have electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar—fundamentally versatile and functional—that will suit a wide range of musicians, regardless of their musical style or playing technique (fingerpicking, strumming).
