The Gibson Modern Collection Hummingbird Standard EC (MCSSHBECHFHCS) retains the fundamental characteristics of the original Dreadnought Square Shoulder Hummingbird, enhanced with a Baggs HiFi DNA pickup.

The Gibson Hummingbird Standard’s all-solid-wood construction combines traditional woods: a Sitka spruce top, a mahogany body and neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard (20 frets). This classic combination—in the best sense of the word—produces a sound that is both full-bodied and powerful, with rich bass, present mids, and full treble that never lacks clarity.
Its natural acoustic volume is ideal for singers who accompany themselves on guitar.

The Hummingbird Standard is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system.
The HiFi DNA system uses two sensors placed under the bridge plate instead of the usual piezo. They record the vibrations of the strings on one hand and those of the soundboard on the other. The result is an even more natural and dynamic recording that faithfully reproduces the instrument’s original acoustic character.
Each Baggs HiFi DNA sensor has its own active preamp. The volume and tone controls are located on the inner edge of the soundhole.
