The Gibson Hummingbird Standard’s all-solid-wood construction combines traditional woods: a Sitka spruce top, a mahogany body and neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard (20 frets). This classic combination—in the best sense of the word—produces a sound that is both full-bodied and powerful, with rich bass, pronounced mids, and full-bodied treble that never lacks clarity.
Its natural acoustic volume is ideal for singers who accompany themselves on guitar.

The Hummingbird Standard is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system.
The HiFi DNA system uses two pickups placed under the bridge instead of the usual piezo. They perform recordings of vibrations from both the strings and the soundboard. The result is an even more natural and dynamic sound that reproduces the instrument’s original acoustic character with greater fidelity.
Each Baggs HiFi DNA sensor has its own active preamp. The volume and tone controls are located on the inner edge of the soundhole.
