Gibson Dove Original (Baggs HiFi DNA Preamp) - antique natural

The original Gibson Dove was produced from 1962 through the end of that decade. Combining the features of the Hummingbird (Dreadnought Square Shoulder) with the maple body of the SJ-200, the Dove was designed to compete with Martin models in the high-end market. It would go on to be favored by numerous pop, rock, and country stars, including Elvis Presley, Emmylou Harris, Tom Petty, Alex Lifeson, and John Mellencamp.
The GIBSON Original Collection Dove (OCSSDOHFAN) retains these fundamental characteristics, enhanced with a Baggs HiFi DNA preamp.

The Gibson Dove Original’s all-solid-wood construction combines traditional woods: a Sitka spruce top, a flamed maple body and sides, a mahogany neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard (25.5" scale, 20 frets).
It delivers clear, powerful, percussive, and glossy tones. The bass is precise and responsive, while the mids and highs are well-defined with excellent articulation.
Its natural acoustic volume is ideal for singers who accompany themselves on guitar.

The Hummingbird Original is equipped with the exclusive Baggs HiFi DNA system.
The HiFi DNA system uses two pickups placed under the bridge instead of the usual piezo. They perform recordings of vibrations from both the strings and the soundboard. The result is an even more natural and dynamic sound that faithfully reproduces the instrument’s original acoustic character.
Each Baggs HiFi DNA pickup has its own active preamp. The volume and tone controls are located on the inner edge of the soundhole.
