Gibson Custom Shop LE 1959 ES-345 Reissue Bigsby Ltd - murphy lab heavy aged ebony
Developed in 1958 and produced continuously from May 1959 to the present, the Gibson ES-345 is a semi-hollow-body electric guitar designed to offer a more versatile (six-position Varitone pickup selector switch) and luxurious (split parallelogram inlays on the fingerboard) alternative to the timeless ES-335.
Inspired by the instruments in the Made To Measure line, the Gibson Custom Shop Limited Edition 1959 ES-345 Reissue With Bigsby (59ES34526LE23271) is a splendid reinterpretation of this iconic electric guitar—a must-have for lovers of authentic vintage tones and feel.
It stands out for its Bigsby vibrato and its superb Heavy Aged Ebony finish, which give it a unique style.
Fundamentally versatile, it excels across a wide range of musical genres, including Blues, Pop, Jazz, Rock, and Hard Rock
The construction is precision-engineered, with dimensions laser-scanned from vintage models, and components selected with uncompromising care: a three-piece maple/poplar/maple body, a set neck (with a “Long Neck Tenon” joint, “hot hide glue*”) in mahogany, solid rosewood fingerboard, and Custom Buckers Alnico III pickups that faithfully reproduce the warm, biting, and nuanced tones of the P.A.F.s from that era.
The Varitone circuit is a notch filter that offers six tone options filtered through five distinct settings (position 1 is a true bypass that connects the pickup directly to the volume pot).
Since 2014, Gibson has been using a glue known as “Hot Hide Glue.” It has the same characteristics as the adhesives used in the 1950s. Derived from animal proteins, it has the advantage of simplifying maintenance and any necessary repairs.
If you’re looking for a perfectly authentic vintage feel, you’ll undoubtedly be won over.
