The Tomatillo Strat Relic is hiding a few special ingredients inside : the trio of hand-wound Tomatillo single-coil pickups (neck and middle) are crafted using alnico 2 magnets, reproducing what aged, original-era alnico 5 magnets might sound like today. The bridge pickup is a hand-woudnPoblano with AlNiCo 5 magnets. The RWRP middle pickup reduces hum, and Strat ½-Blender wiring lets you blend the neck pickup in to taste when in position one—bridge pickup-only—unlocking sweeter, more flavorful tone.
The two-piece body is crafted from alder that was selected for weight and grain. Crafted from quarter-sawn Maple, the neck sports a 11/56 Off Center V-shaped profile that’s comfortable for almost any playing style while the quarter-sawn Maple fingerboard sports a compound 7.25/9.5" radius and natrrow-tall frets that will feel familiar to contemporary players.
