Featuring a AAA-grade Birdseye Maple neck and a Heavy Relic Black Over Violin Burst finish, this FENDER Custom Shop Time Machine 1956 Stratocaster Heavy Relic #R150252 (9237003497) is a reproduction of the original Strat from its second year of production.
Comes with a Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, strap, and certificate of authenticity.

Regarding the Relic finish: dealers attending NAMM 1995 were completely blown away by the level of realism in the first two Relic models that Fender presented to them that year. Although they were connoisseurs of vintage instruments, they mistook them for authentic original Fenders (they were a ’51 Nocaster and a ’56 Mary Kaye Stratocaster).
The accelerated aging process is now fully mastered and accounts for the bulk of Custom Shop sales.
