Empress Heavy Distortion
The EMPRESS EFFECTS Heavy is probably one of the most versatile pedals if you're looking for high-end, high-gain distortion. From '70s hard rock to the latest metal, you'll finally find the sounds you've been searching for.
Thanks to two completely independent channels, you can achieve two entirely distinct tones. You can also generate two identical sounds with different output levels to boost your solos.
The three-band EQ, like the other controls, is extremely effective. The mids feature a mini-switch that lets you choose from three different voicings for each channel.
The Weight control adjusts the compression of the low frequencies. It’s very useful for achieving full, open tones, or conversely, tighter, more controlled tones (palm-mutes).
Finally, each channel features a three-mode noise gate (off / natural / aggressive) to manage high distortion levels.
