Welcome to the new Fuzz Master General! This is EarthQuaker Devices' reinterpretation of the legendary Ace Tone Fuzz Master FM-2, an octave fuzz pedal very similar to the ultra-popular Super Fuzz. EarthQuaker has taken the basic circuit and redesigned it to make it more suitable for today's musicians.
The Fuzz Master General offers a more precise fuzz setting, capable of delivering a wide range of sounds from almost clear grain to extreme saturation.
The Voice selector allows you to refine your sound even further, and obtain even more variation from this classic circuit. This selector lets you choose between germanium diode clipping, silicon diode clipping or no diodes at all. This has a major impact on fuzz character, clarity of high harmonics and output level.
Whereas the original version of the Fuzz Master used a simple footswitch to select two types of sound, the Fuzz Master General offers a Tone control that allows you to obtain a very sharp, high-pitched sound or, on the contrary, a very deep, bass-laden one.
