Adam D3V White - la pareja

The D3V is a fully active desktop monitoring system designed for songwriters, producers and music lovers who want to enjoy ADAM Audio sound quality in the most convenient way possible. Available in white or black, these active speakers feature the iconic gold ribbon tweeter and are true to ADAM Audio's German industrial design.

Each active pair features 3.5" aluminium woofers with ferrite magnets powered by 80W amplifiers. The woofers are complemented by 3.5" passive radiators on each side that allow the D3V to extend down to 45Hz.

With 25 years of experience with ribbon tweeters, ADAM Audio has created a compact 1.5" D-ART (Desktop Accelerated Ribbon Tweeter) ribbon tweeter to ensure D3V customers enjoy the precise, fatigue-free high-frequency reproduction their monitoring systems are known for.

The D3V is equipped with a USB-C input, which allows the monitoring system to act as a digital output device when connected to a computer, eliminating the need for an additional audio interface for playback. This plug'n'play feature is also compatible with mobile devices, allowing high-quality sound to be enjoyed without the compression or conversion that this type of connection normally entails. The D3V also features balanced ¼" TRS inputs for more traditional analog audio applications.

The rear panel of the left speaker features several easy-to-use switches to correct common acoustic problems with speaker placement, while the front panel features a headphone output and a volume knob that doubles as a control for audio input selection, muting, and other functions.

The D3V comes with removable speaker stands that are angled 15° toward the user's ears. In addition, a standard 3/8" threaded hole is provided on the bottom of each speaker for mounting a microphone stand.

Active 3.5" Aluminum Drivers with Ferrite Magnets
Optimized using ADAM Audio's state-of-the-art Klippel measurement system, the exceptional symmetry of the voice coil and ferrite magnets help minimize unwanted distortion and ensure linear woofer operation. Each cone is made from a single piece of thick, ribbed aluminum, with a wide linear excursion range to deliver uncolored sound even at surprisingly high output levels.

The D3V is a fully active system with four separate amplifier channels and a DSP-controlled crossover. The woofers are powered by 80W amplifiers, with the link cable routing the amplified signal to the right speaker.

D-ART Tweeter
A quarter century of ribbon tweeter research and development has allowed ADAM Audio to create this highly effective 1.5" Desktop Accelerated Ribbon Tweeter. All diaphragms are hand-folded and glued, and a 40W amplifier powers each tweeter. Like other ADAM Audio tweeters, the D-ART features a fine-tuned crossover frequency, controlled by a highly precise DSP.

Passive Radiators
The D3V uses two passive radiators per speaker, for a total of four per system. Each radiator consists of a stainless steel plate that serves as a moving mass and a specially stabilized rubber suspension for long travel. Together, they enhance the bass response of the speakers by interacting with the main woofers and contributing to the overall sound pressure level of the system.

USB-C Input
With its plug-and-play USB-C input, the D3V is ADAM Audio’s most convenient monitoring system. The speakers behave as a digital output device when connected to a computer, mobile phone or tablet, eliminating the need for an additional audio interface. This direct digital connection allows for high-quality audio playback without the compression or conversion typically involved with desktop speakers.

DSP Room Acoustics
The rear panel of the left speaker features three switches to correct for acoustic issues inherent to speaker positioning. "POSITION" refers to the position of the speakers in the room. "DESK" refers to the surface of the desk in front of the speakers, while "ROOM" refers to the amount of acoustic treatment in the space where the system is used.

Balanced Analogue Inputs
In addition to the USB-C input, the D3V features analogue inputs for more traditional audio use. This allows you to connect a balanced audio interface as well as directly connect all sorts of gear, including synthesizers, drum machines, samplers or DJ mixers. The USB-C and balanced analogue inputs can be selected by pressing the volume knob on the left speaker.

Headphone output, speaker stands and mounting options
Function and convenience played a major role in the design of the D3V. The front headphone output automatically takes over audio playback when connected, and removable speaker stands with a 15° angle are also included. Additionally, a standard 3/8" threaded hole is provided on the bottom of each speaker for mounting a microphone stand.

Injection Molded Enclosure
The D3V speakers are constructed of high-grade injection molded ABS Polycarbonate with thick, adequately reinforced walls to prevent unwanted vibrations and resonances. The rounded shape reduces unwanted diffraction in the high frequencies, while paying homage to ADAM Audio's industrial design heritage.
